I can be fairly patient as an Oiler fan, but I've reached my limit. Nine years of mediocrity is enough! The Oilers need to clean house and fire head coach, Craig MacTavish! And while they are at it, clean house and let the rest of the coaching staff go, too.
This is an open thread for those sports fans who need to vent.

Become a Leafs fan. Leafs fans have learned to be content with any performance. It's the secret to true happiness.
ReplyDelete*shudder* Only thing worse is a Flames fan. ;P
ReplyDeleteBah! I think the Oilers just need to trade their fans :P .
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the listing of my blog "I'm from Missouri" in your blog roll?
ReplyDeleteP.S. My blog is listed on your site with the title, "Answer Here or Not Here." How does one answer here or not here?
ReplyDeleteArt, don't feel offended that I deleted your comments at Full Disclosure thread. I'm just following the rules I set out. Ask Dave how strict I can get here. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, your Bruins are blowing chunks lately. But I do admit being interested in seeing how well they do in the playoffs. IMO, the East is the Devils to lose.
Also, I am still frustrated with MacT. He can't get his players motivated at the start of games, his team has the very bad habit of holding on to a lead for dear life (only to lose it in the end). I have been patient for 9 years. MacT and his coaching have to go. Tom Renney sounds like a good candidate for coach, IMO.
On the bright side for you, Art, at least the Bruins aren't like the Flames: the 1st law of the NHL is when the Flames make the playoffs, they exit in the first round. It's only been violated once since 1989. heh heh
Well, JJS, are you happy now?
ReplyDeleteWhile we're on the subject of hockey, how about Saturday's NCAA final?
ReplyDeleteArt, I was surprised the upper brass allowed Tambellini to fire MacT. I am happy, but this is step 1 of the off-season housecleaning that needs to occur. It was also the easiest. The Oilers are hamstrung by Horcoff's and Penner's (horrible) contracts.
ReplyDeleteI saw the OT of the BU/Miami(OH) final. I also caught highlights of it. BU showed some brass stuff in getting it to OT, and had some luck with the OT winner. But they still deserve congrats for the win. Jack Parker is a coach I've heard of up here for a while, and he's proven his quality again.
BTW, my Conference Finals predictions include Boston in it against Carolina (that last didn't look too good last night, eh?). I have Detroit and Chicago in the West. I'll wait until the Conference Final for my Cup picks.
ReplyDeleteThe Bruins have some good ol' fashioned exorcising to do before playing for the Finals. I don't think they've beaten the Canadiens in a playoff series since I've been alive.
ReplyDeleteFor Bostonians, it's like 2004 all over again.
" don't think they've beaten the Canadiens in a playoff series since I've been alive."I seem to remember the Bruins (Neely, Bourque, Janney, Moog, etc.) beating the Canadiens in 1990. So unless you are REALLY young (like Doogie Howser young), I'd say you're wrong.
ReplyDeleteYer right. For some reason, the 90's series never quite made up for the 70's in my mind. Probably because there wasn't a Cup involved.
