Critical Thinking

From a post at Mike Gene's blog. I particularly like numbers 2 and 4:

"2. understand and define terms (make others define terms, too)

4. question the conclusion: do the facts support it? is there evidence of bias? remember correlation does not equal causation."

  1. Defining the terms is always a good first step in any discussion. But it is often difficult in conversations with IDers, since they never can agree on terms that they bandy about with great alacrity, such as "complexity", or "specified complexity" or "information" or "design".
